This was my first time visiting Universal Studios Singapore, and I was very excited. There are many rides and attractions to enjoy. When I was five or six years old, I went there once with my family, but we didn’t buy tickets to enter. This time, however, I actually went inside. We spent about nine hours exploring the park.
Universal Studios Singapore has many themed areas, including Jurassic Park’s Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Hollywood, New York City, and Shrek’s Far Far Away Kingdom. Each area features unique attractions and performances. My two favorite rides were Jurassic River Adventure and Revenge of the Mummy. One is an outdoor ride, while the other is an indoor roller coaster. Both rides were very thrilling, and I enjoyed them so much that I went on each of them twice.
In the New York area, I saw Sesame Street. In the Jurassic Park area, there is an attraction called Raptor Encounter, where you can experience Owen Grady training velociraptors, just like in Jurassic World. If you plan to go on the Jurassic River Adventure, I recommend bringing your own raincoat or buying one there because the ride includes waterfalls that can get you wet.
Apart from the rides, there’s also a live show called Water world. In this show, staff use water guns, buckets, and other props to soak the audience in certain seating areas. However, some shows don’t start as soon as the park opens. For instance, Water world starts at 1 PM.
I recommend visiting on weekdays instead of weekends or holidays to avoid long queues. I went on Christmas Eve, and the park was very crowded. If you plan to ride Revenge of the Mummy, consider queuing after lunch while digesting your food. The ride is an indoor roller coaster, and although the queue might be long, it’s worth the wait.
For transportation, here’s the route I took: From Woodlands Checkpoint, take bus 170 to Kranji Station. From Kranji, take the MRT to Jurong East Station, then transfer to the MRT to Buona Vista Station. From Buona Vista, switch to the MRT heading to HarbourFront Station at VivoCity, a shopping mall. From the third floor of VivoCity, take the Sentosa Express to Resort World Station. Then, walk for about 15 minutes, and you’ll arrive at Universal Studios Singapore. This is just my recommended route, but you can choose your preferred way to get there.
You can bring food, drinks, and other essentials with you. Inside the park, there are also 3D movies you can watch if you need a break. The park provides what they call “local tickets” for each attraction, which allow you to queue for free once. However, if you want to ride an attraction multiple times, you’ll need to collect a different local ticket for each time. On weekdays, fast passes aren’t necessary, but on weekends, they are worth it to skip the long lines.
I hope to visit Universal Studios Singapore again someday. After going there, I felt like a kid again. The experience helped me leave behind all my stress and simply enjoy myself.
I had great fun and a lovely memorial there!!!
